Who We Are

We’ve been recognising the great people and diverse roles that make our business

When the Government bestowed key worker status on Royal Mail, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, we were quick to seize the mantle to connect communities across the UK.

We’ve proved influential in the country’s fight back against Covid-19 – from delivering crucial Government messaging to setting up a vital collection service for test kits.

And then there are our people, making a difference to every day lives, delivering much-needed PPE supplies and more parcels than we’ve ever had to.

That’s why our Who We Are campaign was born. Its aim was to celebrate the key workers across our Group, highlighting the many roles we have and the brilliant people that carry them out.

It started with driver Kerry Taylor, at National Distribution Centre VOC, on 1 September and – 31 colleagues later – ended with lifesaving postman Les Furesz from Preston Central Delivery Office.

In between, we have covered the length and breadth of the UK – from Coleraine to Pontypridd and from Edinburgh to Taunton. We’ve featured roles from project manager to customer relations and from Parcelforce driver to fleet technicians. These profiles will forever live here to be read back and remembered: myroyalmail.com/whoweare

‘It’s been a really important campaign for us to run,’ said senior channels manager Paul Smith. ‘As a business, we’ve faced our greatest challenges but we’re coming out the other side thanks to people like those we have recognised through Who We Are.

‘The only difficulty we had was not including more – we were inundated with worthy nominations. Those we have profiled could easily have been picked from elsewhere, so brilliant have so many colleagues been.

‘Who We Are demonstrates the best of Royal Mail, the role we play for the country and importantly how many different areas function together to get to that final prized delivery at the end.

‘It’s what we do.’
