Cleaning products, driver training, cover managers and re-deliveries

We wish to reassure colleagues that we are closely following Public Health England and World Health Organisation (WHO) guidance on Covid-19, so that we can continue to provide advice on preventative measures and minimise the risks to our people.

We have issued further guidance to the operation regarding a number of issues. The latest up-to-date information and advice can be found within our Questions & Answers document at myroyalmail.com/Coronavirus.

It includes updates on:

  • Our cleaning products are effective for cleaning in a non-healthcare setting as per the guidance issued by Public Health England. Where there has been a confirmed Covid-19 case, a viricidal product must be used to disinfect touch points and potentially contaminated surfaces.
  • All the details on our revised driver training requirements can be found by clicking here.
  • Cover managers moving around units must observe social distancing measures and good hygiene practices. 
  • Reporting on MCDR and DODR is no longer required as the systems have been streamlined to reduce questions.
  • We should aim to re-deliver items on the day selected, but if that’s not possible, we should re-deliver as soon as possible.
