Employee fundraising

Due to the current Covid-19 outbreak, we understand that charities and fundraising organisations will be working in a challenging and changing environment.
We know that many organisations will be making complex decisions, not only about their fundraising activity, but what that means for future income generation and the important work they do.
Working with our charity partners and supporting colleagues’ fundraising efforts is really important to Royal Mail. We want to encourage everyone to continue supporting charities, but ask that you follow the Government’s request to stay at home (except for very limited reasons). This means stopping all public fundraising activity, including bucket collections and fundraising events in the community, until further notice.
With that in mind, we’ve thought of a few ‘virtual’ ways for you to support charities from the comfort of your home:
Online donations: Many charities have this facility on their website. If not, you can get in contact and see if they are able to accept a donation in another way.
A virtual fundraising event: You can run and organise an event with members of your household. If you want to include anyone else, you will need to do that virtually. There are a number of great platforms for video calling you can use, such as Skype, Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp.
Through Charities Trust, you can set up an online Sponsor Me page where friends and family can donate to your online event.
Here are a few ideas: A quiz, an exercise class, a creative masterclass – how to start knitting, a cook along - get as creative as you can!
Promote the charity on social media: Using your platform you can promote your charity to others who might want to support the charity, or spread the word about the great work they are doing.
Thank you for your understanding at this challenging time. Please continue to follow all the guidance on protecting yourself and colleagues from coronavirus, especially when it comes to washing your hands.
