Big Trust Survey

Company actions

Since the last Big Trust Survey, we've been holding a series of People Panels to explore further what you want from the business. There are three key themes that have come up where we’re taking action.

Purpose and connection

You want:

  • More direction and insight into our future plan

What we're doing:

  • Our Chief Operating Officer, Alistair Cochrane, and his team toured the UK with a strategy roadshow, onboarding managers with our operational priorities for the year ahead
  • Work is underway to develop our longer-term strategy and vision for Royal Mail
  • A regular calendar of events is being put in place to ensure leaders and managers are kept up to date on our performance and priorities

Pride and recognition

You want:

  • To restore our levels of company pride
  • To feel more valued and recognised for the contributions you make

What we're doing:

  • Our Change for Good campaign is building a company culture we can be proud of
  • The Heart of Royal Mail Awards, a new peer-nominated recognition programme, will launch later this year
  • A new employee pride initiative to celebrate our local communities is in the works. Watch this space…

Colleague involvement

You want:

  • More opportunities to get involved in decisions that affect you

What we're doing:

  • We’re growing our networks of engagement champions and wellbeing ambassadors to enable more upward feedback and support local activity
  • We have an ‘always on’ listening approach, with channels to feedback on issues and suggestions both locally, and at a company level. Our People Panels are a great opportunity to get more involved on a national level.

How can you get involved?

Keep feeding back on your insight and experience. We’ll confirm a date for the next employee survey, but in the meantime keep sharing your ideas with your manager and feeding into your local action plans.
