RMtv: Midlands rail

Midlands Super Hub's first train | Changes to our Age Verification service | Family and friends roles at Peak

Letters were first transported by rail in 1830 and, while our network is much reduced today, it still plays a vital role in moving mail.

This week, the first live trains transporting mail between our new Midlands Super Hub and Scottish Distribution Centre began operation.

The service is operated by DB Cargo using Class 325 electric units, with each set of four coaches able to carry up to 235 yorks.

Reducing our reliance on domestic air and increasing our rail offering has a positive environmental impact, while also giving us greater capacity for parcels.

In this RMtv, see the milestone moment Midlands Super Hub's first train reached the platform. Watch here.
