How to fix everything...

Feel-good Friday

Postman, poet and Carnegie-nominated children’s author, Ben Davis from Tamworth Delivery Office, has a new book out this month called ‘My Brilliant Plan to Fix Everything’.

Drawing on his 16-years’ experience as a postman, Ben’s new novel, which is suitable for ages eight and upwards, tells the heartfelt story of Alex, a 12-year-old who takes over his dad's postal round.

My Brilliant Plan to Fix Everything is the story of Alex, who is determined to spend his summer holidays getting his estranged parents back together,” said Ben. “His dad has always dreamed of being a novelist but is too tired from work to write.

“Alex hopes that if his dad finally writes the novel he's always talked about, he'll be happier again and his parents will fall back in love. So, he hatches a plan to do his postal round for him so he can get it done. Will he go the whole summer without being caught? And will his brilliant plan work?”

Ben’s previous publishing sensation: ‘Lenny Lemmon and the Invincible Rat,’ which came out in May, was selected as a Book of the Month by The Guardian. The hilarious school-based comedy centres around Lenny and the chaos and pandemonium he causes when he brings his pet rat ‘Ratty’ to school.

When he’s not writing or out on his rounds, Ben enjoys visiting schools to lead creative writing workshops and class readings. Check out his Twitter feed @bendavis_86 to see what he’s been up to recently.
