Always AVOID
Don’t risk it – always AVOID when on deliveries

The figures from the past year show that there were 1,916 dog attacks on our posties. That’s 1,916 too many.
Did you know:
- The majority of dog attacks took place at the front door (47%)
- 27% of dog attacks took place in the garden, drive or yard
- 6% of attacks took place in the street or road
- There were 381 injuries suffered through the letterbox - accounting for 20% of attacks on postal workers
- Most attacks take place on a Saturday. Almost 10% more than any other day of the week.
- Between 12 noon and 3pm is the main time for a dog attack
The most effective way to prevent dog attacks is to do your best to avoid them completely. When delivering to an address with a dog always think twice before you act.
