Rising returns

Returns is a growing market for us and it’s another one that’s only been accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic, writes Paul Smith.

Today is Takeback Monday, when returns are expected to increase by 63 per cent compared to the average number of parcels returned per day in December.

Ill-fitting and unwanted Christmas goods are sent back on what is the first working day of the New Year – and our Covid-secure customer service points are primed to step up.

Postwoman Seasha Hawkins, pictured, was among those serving scores of customers as we opened for business.

She said: ‘We’ve noticed a huge growth in returns over the last six months – coronavirus has definitely added to that.’
