Black History Month 2023

Introduction

1 - 31 October is Black History Month, an annual occasion which celebrates of the rich culture and history of African and Caribbean communities while recognising the invaluable contributions of Black people in the UK.

This year, Black History Month is dedicating the theme to Black women – ‘Saluting our Sisters’. At Royal Mail, we are mirroring this by ‘Celebrating Black Women and Empowering Ethnic Minority Wellbeing'.

We have an exciting month in store, packed full of employee spotlights, cultural learning, lively conversation, entertainment and more!

In the tiles below you can find out how we’re celebrating the occasion with showcases of excellent work from our colleagues as well as opportunities for you to join the conversation through interactive learning opportunities such as readathons and, live events and an exhibition taking place.

While we’ve given you a taste of what to expect during October, you can really get stuck in thanks to a specially curated menu of delicious African and Caribbean dishes available across multiple sites.
