Trailblazing in Tech

International Women’s Day

As we countdown to International Women’s Day, we’re highlighting the innovators at Royal Mail who are redefining what’s possible for women.

Today, we’re featuring Nana Akande, Director of Data Products and Services, whose leadership is transforming the way we use data to drive innovation and success. Nana has recently been recognised as one of the industry's rising stars in the DataIQ 100 Future Leaders 2025.

As a mother of three, Nana has accelerated her career while balancing the demands of parenthood, proving that women can excel in their professional life without compromising their personal life.

‘While balancing work and family has been demanding, it’s also been one of my greatest motivators. Having a strong support network and being resilient has allowed me to push forward in my career while being there for my family.’

Nana has also been invited to share her insights on leadership at Google’s Future Women in Tech panel, where she advocates for greater representation of women in the tech industry.

‘Being a woman in tech is about confidence, resilience, and embracing opportunities to grow. Trust yourself and lean into your strengths.’

You can hear more from female game-changers at Royal Mail at the Hersday event on Thursday 6 March – attendees also have the opportunity to converse and ask questions during the afternoon panel session. You can read the full agenda here.
