We have lift off

Ops success stories

After a series of setbacks, Aireborough’s performance is starting to soar.

‘In 2023/24, we were ranked 840 in the Vital Few for delivery loss, with a 14.1% variance to target. Fast forward to 2024/25 year-to-date, and we’re now ranked 40 for delivery loss, with a 1.1% improvement against target. That’s all down to the team’s hard work and dedication,’ says Lead COM, Daniel Humphrey, proudly.

A focus on colleague training and info-rich team huddles have been key to the turnaround in the unit’s fortunes, says Daniel. Careful management and planning for annual leave and sickness have also played a role, encouraging a culture of collaboration and accountability.

‘The team has been incredible,’ Daniel says. ‘Everyone’s brought their A-game and are working together to make positive changes. It’s been so inspiring to see how committed everyone is to delivering the best possible results.

‘Christmas 2024 was a night-and-day difference compared to 2023. Last year, we were dealing with daily failures and overspending every week. This year, we cleared every single day and even loaned staff to other units—all while keeping costs lower than the previous year.’

As a result, the team are feeling excited for the future.

‘I’d like to say a massive thank you to the whole team for their hard work, positivity, and commitment. Every single one of them plays a vital role in our success,’ Daniel adds.

‘I’d also like to give a special shout-out to our indoor staff, who always go above and beyond, and to Chris Jones, Paul Machelle, and Gary Dabil—Their efforts haven’t gone unnoticed, and I really appreciate everything they have done.’
