A heart hero

This Feel-good Friday we’re sharing award winner Imran's story, in support of Heart Month for British Heart Foundation.
Imran’s story is a powerful demonstration of how CPR is a lifesaving skill to know and why we are encouraging everyone to learn CPR this Heart Month using British Heart Foundation's RevivR training tool.
It was an ordinary day for Imran Badin when the unexpected happened. One of his colleagues collapsed from a cardiac arrest. Trained first aider Imran leapt into action, beginning CPR to pump blood around his colleague’s body. It was this speedy response that kept him alive long enough for paramedics to arrive and rush him to hospital.
After that day, the pair weren’t in touch with each other. However, months later fate stepped in when they crossed paths again during a shopping trip. A joyful reunion that, had things been different, could have never happened at all.
Imran won a CPR Hero award at BHF’s Heart Hero Awards in December 2024, the award recognises someone who has shown incredible courage and bravery by attempting to save a person’s life from cardiac arrest through performing CPR. Congratulations Imran!
