Security keys coming soon

The security of our customers mail is vital and forms an element of our mail integrity regulatory obligation.

Unfortunately, there have been instances of vehicle keys being left in the ignition when delivering or collecting from doorsteps. This has resulted in cases of the theft of the vehicle and / or theft of our customers mail – which has a massive impact on our quality of service, business success and brand reputation. 

As a resolution to this, a significant investment has been made for all drivers of light commercial vehicles to be provided with a security key reel.

These simple yet nifty gadgets can be attached to a belt or waistband and have a host of benefits including:

• Preventing the loss of mail and vehicles

• Reducing vehicle idling, call outs to rescue keys locked in vehicles and handbrake rollaways.

Deployment of the new security key reels is in two phases. Phase one, in January 2025, is to operational units in the postcode areas serviced by Swindon and Rochester Walk Bundling Centres with the remaining units expected to receive their key reels later in 2025.
