Celebrating 6,000

We are delighted to announce our 6,000th electric vehicle was delivered to Manchester Mail Centre earlier this month, maintaining our position as having the largest electric delivery fleet in the UK, with the lowest reported carbon emissions per parcel of any UK delivery company.
To find out more, look out for RMtv from Friday.
In July, we announced we were adding 2,100 electric vans to the fleet as part of the overall annual vehicle replacement plan. Once all these vehicles are delivered, our overall electric fleet will total 7,100 vans, and when all in use, they are expected to reduce total emissions by around 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
This supports our Steps to Zero strategy to achieve Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2040.
Over 240 offices across the country now have electric vehicles. Most are charged on-site using 100% renewable electricity, meaning they are zero emission.
Alistair Cochrane, Chief Operating Officer, said: ‘It’s so exciting to hit this major milestone just as we enter 2025. Electric vehicles are an essential part of our plan to be Net-Zero by 2040 and offer so many benefits for both our staff and customers. Our zero-emission vehicles make our deliveries greener, reducing noise and air pollution in local communities.’
In addition to electrification of the fleet, we have hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) at seven fuel sites, which we use in our heavy goods vehicles, this provides a renewable alternative to diesel that produces up to 90 per cent less direct carbon emissions compared to diesel.
