Feel-good Friday

At Rye Delivery Office the spirit of Christmas is all around as Customer Operations Manager, Tracey King has been preparing special gift bags for customers.
These small gift bags are for young visitors who come to the delivery office with their parents to collect parcels or post a letter in their special Santa postbox. Tracey was mindful to create something special for everyone and filled the bags with colouring books, keyrings, wristbands and much more.
When asked what motivated her to create these gift bags, Tracey said: ‘it really came from my inner child, I’d always had difficult experiences at Christmas and never enjoyed the season. As an adult I realised I could make a gesture to today’s children whilst sharing the #wearechristmas sentiment.’
Tracey expresses the importance of engaging with children to keep the future of Royal Mail alive.
‘Everyone has a postie and I for one remember mine from when I was a little, believing in our service starts with the postie bringing all those cards and gifts at Christmas and for birthdays throughout the year.’
Community starts at the heart of office at Rye Delivery Office, Tracey shared that the team are a family and delivering our service to millions of families and communities across the UK is a privilege.
‘I love Christmas at Royal Mail. We have decorations and trees, each of my posties gets a gift and we throw ourselves in to doing our very best everyday. I love the hustle and bustle – there is a real sense that the team are giving their all to their customers. It may be our busiest time, but it is also the most enjoyable and I think we shine at times like this.’
Christmas for Tracey this year will be spent with family and close friends eating plenty of Christmas pudding.
