Christmas cast - Ian Evans

The words of Ian Evans, one of the stars of our We Are Christmas 2024 campaign feature film, when discussing Royal Mail at Christmas.

Ian, a postman at Corwen Delivery Office in Denbighshire, was invited to take part in the film, which sees colleagues dancing along to Elton John’s chart-topping Step into Christmas, after being nominated by his manager, Beverley Williams.

Beverley wrote: ‘Ian is such a positive influence in the office. Always a smile and a positive outlook on life. Ian is what I would describe as a goodwill ambassador in the office and along with his colleagues lifts the morale of the office, which makes Corwen a great office to work in for everyone.’

The We Are Christmas film is being used to help inspire our people to make it the best Peak yet for our customers.

Ian said of his role in the film: ‘It was all so enjoyable. The whole team were great, the cast, the crew members – one big team effort and really nice being a part of it.

‘My line manager asked me and I jumped at the chance because why not? It was something different.

‘At Christmas we do have a bit of fun in the office. It’s a small office with only about 15 of us, and we have a real giggle down there. We’ve got great team effort, have a laugh and a joke, and it’s a great office to work in. My manager recognised that and got me to the big city in London for the film!’

Ian is now busy in the thick of Peak, playing his part in our pipeline to deliver Christmas for our customers.

And, while much fun was had in making our feature film, he knows there is an importance to the message we are sharing.

‘The caption is we deliver Christmas and we really do – all them young kids, the families, they rely on us,’ he said. ‘Royal Mail is a great British institution and it’s fantastic to be a part of it.’
