Christmas cast – Deepa

‘When it’s Christmas, you can’t help but think of Royal Mail.’

The words of Deepa Damera, one of the stars of our We Are Christmas 2024 campaign feature film, when discussing Royal Mail at Christmas.

London-based Deepa was invited to take part in the film, which sees colleagues dancing along to Elton John’s chart-topping Step into Christmas, thanks to her roles in our Employee Resource Groups.

The We Are Christmas film is being used to help inspire our people to make it the best Peak yet for our customers.

Deepa, who works from our Farringdon Road office as a Project Management Officer, said of her role in the film: ‘The most amazing part was the dancing, that was fun. I was nervous, looking at the professional dancers and the energy they had – could we really get in sync with them? But it all looked great on camera because I think we did sync in the end.

‘I also had the joy of meeting so many other Royal Mail and Parcelforce colleagues from different parts of the country.’

Deepa wore a striking red Sari for the shoot and said it was the only choice for her!

‘When it’s Christmas you can’t help but think of Royal Mail,’ she said. ‘I couldn’t think of any other colour to wear for the shoot than red for Christmas and red for Royal Mail. Royal Mail is Christmas.

‘I just hope the film does all the good things it should do for Royal Mail this Christmas.’
