The Home Office is replacing physical immigration documents with a digital proof of immigration status – an eVisa.
Any employees who currently have a physical immigration document, such as a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), and have not already created a UKVI account, should now take steps to transition to an eVisa. Details of how to do this are available at www.gov.uk/evisa.
Those who do not obtain an eVisa by 31 December 2024 will not be able to provide evidence of their immigration status and risk being refused entry to the UK from 1 January 2025.
