World Mental Health Day

The importance of checking in.

As we observe World Mental Health Day, simply asking how someone is and listening can make a huge difference.

This year we’re asking you to check in with a mate – your quiet mate, your loud mate, your always-ok mate, your healthy mate. Checking in only takes a moment and could make the difference to someone you know.

Take action:

Talk to a team mate or a loved one about the Help@hand app and download using PIN 164003.  This will give you and your family immediate and unlimited access to a 24/7 online GP, and you and your partner can also access unlimited mental health consultations.

If you do need to speak to someone about any issue impacting you, you can call the wellbeing Employee Assistance Programme in confidence on 0345 266 5060. They are there to listen to you and help you access the right support services.

If you are worried about someone and not sure what to say, use Moments that Matter support guide – supporting a colleague when you’re worried about them.  Here you will find guidance on how to spot signs, asking the right questions and signpost to wellbeing support.

And remember, your Wellbeing Hub is your one stop shop for everything wellbeing and is available through the People App.
