Where's Yorkie?

We’re excited to introduce Parcel & Pipeline Visibility - a programme of work to integrate leading-edge technology into our operation and improve the visibility of our equipment and services. The goal is to have accurate, real-time data from across the entire pipeline of where each york is and what items are inside the york.
This will allow us to work smarter by understanding where our yorks are and what they contain so you can get accurate forecasts on what is arriving on which vehicles.
We estimate we have around 850k yorks in the network transporting products across customer and RM sites yet we have no visibility of where they are, and what is inside of them, aside from ineffective and time-consuming manual counts.
Parcel & Pipeline Visibility aims to make your life easier.
What work is being done?
Step one of this programme is to tag all our yorks with digital tags. This allows us to see in real-time where each one is across the country.
With this visibility, we can quickly track down lost or unused yorks and redistribute them to where they are needed. This will save you, and the operation as a whole, a lot of time, effort and money. Later down the line, we will also be able to tell you what yorks and number of items are arriving by vehicle.
Processing colleagues have been busy locating and tagging our yorks. Around 824k have been tagged to date. We now need your help to find the rest.
How can I get involved and what could I win?
We’ve launched a competition across the whole country until the end of October to find untagged yorks. If you find an untagged york you could be entered into a prize draw.
On top of that, we have hidden Yorkie, our york character, on 50 untagged yorks across the country. If you find Yorkie you will win a bouquet of yorkie chocolate bars. You’ll also be entered into a prize draw to win a weekend away of your choice, up to the value of £500.
See #WheresYorkie on Workplace to see the winners so far.
What do I do if I find an untagged york or Yorkie?
If you find either Yorkie or an untagged york you simply fill out this form to let us know and then ensure they get tagged. Tagging sites are Plants and Hubs. If you identify an untagged york in a delivery office or within collections, please ensure you prioritise this york as part of any Repat runs.
We can only accept one entry for every untagged york or Yorkie found that hasn’t already been found by someone else. We’ll inform you if your york has already been found once we receive your submission.
We’ll announce the prize draw winners at the end of September/start of October. You can find the terms and conditions here.
How do I identify an untagged york?
The yorks are tagged on the inside of the metal plate on the back of the york. If it is tagged you will see or feel little white stickers with QR codes on them.
If the york is untagged you will see see and feel nothing. If a york has Yorkie on it you will feel a laminated sheet and see our Yorkie character on it, with a blue background and a QR code to scan.

Let’s work together to get all our yorks tagged and make life easier for our colleagues on the frontline. Happy hunting!
