Feel-good Friday

Tough teams across the South West have banded together to get their hearts pumping and funds raised in aid of our charity partner, British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Motivated by his own journey with heart health, having suffered a heart attack earlier this year, Dursley Delivery Office Customer Operations Manager, Graham Wilkes, rounded up the local troops and took on the Great Big Fundraising Challenge to raise £18,000 by getting active.
Team Gloucester and Bristol North managers took on a challenge to row a whopping 250km, which equals the distance from Gloucester to Anfield in Liverpool.
The team of 14 not only achieved their 250km goal but superseded it by reaching 278km. That means on the row, they would have skipped Liverpool and ventured to Blackpool Tower instead!
‘Raising funds for heart health holds a very personal reason to be involved, so believe me when I say I am eternally grateful for everything our teams have done,’ said Graham.
‘The biggest thing these events have shown us is that even in the toughest of times we can do something truly amazing!’
The super South West team did indeed raise their target of £18,000 and then some… coming in at just under £25,000!
The challenge may be over for 2024 but you can still support BHF throughout the year. To find out more about fundraising, challenges and CPR training, please visit our National Charity Partner page on myroyalmail.com.
