Feel-good Friday

Some bake cakes, some wash cars and others, well, they row across the Atlantic!

We’ve many fundraising fans at Royal Mail and North West Super Hub OPG, Christopher Greenhalgh – also known as Louie – will be bringing his friend and skipper, Chris, aboard for this good cause.

This incredible feat across 3,000 miles from Gran Canaria to Barbados came about after Louie suffered a brain haemorrhage in early 2021, which caused him to spend the following 12 months rehabilitating from fatigue. Keen to rediscover his limits, Louie applied for an Arctic survival course, which birthed the idea of this challenge, which will take place this December.

Both Louie and Chris are ex-servicemen with a shared focus on mental health, making fundraising for Alibare and Scotty’s little soldiers – a charity for service children who have lost parents and homeless veterans, the right charity for them.

Already, they’ve raised more than £65,000, but would be delighted for any extra support to help their cause, using the link above.

‘Chris and I are novices but we have been stuck in with training courses and wish to raise awareness for mental health related to those in services,’ said Louis.

We wish Louie and Chris good all the best on their challenge.
