Celebrating 100 years

A lot can happen in 100 years and Royal Mail is an ever growing, evolving organisation but something that remains the same is the pride that many of our colleagues take in their roles and Royal Mail alumnus, Stanley Carr is a testimony for this.

Stanley Carr recently celebrated his amazing 100 birthday with a party organised by Age UK, the country’s leading charity who supports older people. When a colleague of the charity, Sally reached out to us she was keen to have Royal Mail’s involvement as Stanley often spoke of his happy memories at Royal Mail and the sense of pride he feels to have been a part of the organisation.

‘It feels no different to be 100’ said Stanley who was enjoying the sound of the ukele band at his party. ‘My advice on reaching 100 is food and purpose! Make it simple and make it regular. Eat your meals at proper times, make sure you have a good breakfast in the morning.’

‘Join an organisation that gives you some pride and put your whole heart into it.’ Which accurately showcases Stanley’s view on Royal Mail as he dedicated much of his life to deliver excellent service and leave his positive mark of his colleagues, community and customers.

We know there are lots of amazing stories out there. Please share on Workplace or email your news to rmcommunications@royalmail.com.
