TEMU is one of the fastest growing e-commerce marketplaces and we’re adapting how we work to meet demand.
Winning a new contract with TEMU is in large part thanks to the success of our Midlands Super Hub, the largest automated site at Royal Mail.
In this film, we’re with some of our team at the Daventry site, which is approaching its first year in operation, to find out more about our partnership with TEMU.
Hear from Vivian Davies, Director of Global Imports, Mandeep Kalra, Senior Operations Manager at the Hub, as well as some of our frontline colleagues.
TEMU volumes arrive on pallets, whereas typically our operation is set up to receive parcels in yorks. A dedicated area to specifically handle TEMU traffic on pallets has been created and, alongside a team effort, its enabled an efficient operation for the Hub team.
‘We are managing to hit the quality levels the customer expects from us,’ says Vivian.
‘If we don’t step up to the mark,’ adds OPG William Smith, ‘the customer will just go elsewhere.’
And Vivian believes this is a great demonstration of what we can achieve.
She said: ‘TEMU has large volumes coming into the UK. They’re looking for scale, technology and flexibility. The customer has been very impressed by the quality we have achieved for them and we’re seeing their parcel volumes increasing.
‘The success story our super hub has built with TEMU demonstrates we can give our customers all they want.’
