Spring People Panel

Over 140 colleagues came together at the Phoenix Centre in London and satellite sites from Aberdeen to Northern Ireland for the Spring People Panel on Wednesday, 1 May.
The event was hosted by Employee Voice Manager, Sarah Dyer to provide colleagues with the opportunity to input on key topics and initiatives across the business.
‘The People Panel plays such an important role in our employee listening programme, giving colleagues an opportunity to have their say, and it exists for exactly this reason - to amplify the voices of our people and gather colleagues' views on some of our key priorities said Sarah.
‘It's about tapping into the diverse experience of our members to drive meaningful change, so it’s fantastic to welcome so many colleagues to today’s Spring People Panel, providing colleagues with an opportunity to share their views on several important topics.’
To kick off the day, attendees all got involved in a warm-up ice breaker to get to know our colleagues better and get a feel for how it feels to work here at the moment, exploring colleagues’ views on the current challenges.
The first session of the day led by Oliver Holman and Lizz Lloyd covered the value of driving our safety culture in the workplace. This discussion brought an understanding of how we can all be on the same page for mitigating risk. It also gave attendees the chance to ask relevant questions and look at how to re-engage, re-energise and re-commit to safety.
When colleagues returned for the afternoon, Kiran Hallan shared the current impact of Change for Good and gathered feedback on how these important messages are landing in offices.
‘A big take away from the day was the powerful Change for Good presentation on #imin and around the new reporting and speaking up tile on the People App. This session was so detailed, touching and resonated with everybody in the room’ said attendee, Luke Earnshaw, Attendance Lead at Sheffield Mail Centre.
Co-Chair of LGBTQ+ and Friends Employee Resource Group, Chris Barber, took the stage to cover our ERGs and the role they play in the workplace.
To close the event, Sarah Dyer captured our members’ key priorities, questions or ideas that would be beneficial to explore for upcoming People Panel events. This included an interactive breakout to identify the priority areas which need addressing.
‘It was a pleasure to meet and get involved with new people and talk about the business across the functions to hear how certain issues affect us all differently and to understand from my own perspective what we can do to help/support and minimise this impact to others across the pipeline’ said Luke.
