Let's get physical

Following on from Mental Health Awareness Week last week where we heard from the team at Edinburgh Mail Centre as they opened their new wellbeing room – in this video today, we’re joined by OPG, Lee Borthwick.

In this video, Lee shares the benefits of physical exercise and the positive effects it has on the mind as well as body.

At Royal Mail, colleagues have a variety of choices available to support with maintain good health including on-site gyms. Royal Mail Fitness Centres are managed by Energy Fitness Professionals and they aim to provide you with a wide range of fitness services throughout the Royal Mail network of Mail Centres. There are currently 37 fitness centres located at Royal Mail sites exclusively for Royal Mail employees and on-site contractors.

The sites are all staffed by qualified professionals on hand to help you. Membership is paid via a weekly or monthly fee; check your local site using the region or locations button for the exact price, fitness centre specifications and services.

If there isn’t a gym available at your site, take a look on My Bundle+ where discounts from a variety of gyms such as Virgin Active, Nuffield Health and more are available. Click here to visit MyBundle and simply search ‘gym’ in the top search bar.

Through Your Wellbeing you can also find free and confidential support is available for all Royal Mail colleagues including support for your physical health, mental wellbeing, lifestyle management and guidance on how to look after your finances. You can also access via the ‘Your Wellbeing’ tile on the People App.

Wellbeing 360 Assessment

Help@hand is available to all colleagues can access a personalised 360 wellbeing report which covers your physical, mental and financial wellbeing. It is really easy to use, just answer some quick questions which will give you your 360 Wellbeing Score and unlocks access to 1:1 lifestyle coaching, nutrition advice and personal training support.
