New Royal Mail Group CEO

Message from Group CEO of International Distributions Services, Martin Seidenberg:
I am delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Gilthorpe as Chief Executive Officer of Royal Mail Group.
Emma will join the company on 1 May 2024 and will work closely with me during an intensive induction process before taking over responsibility for Royal Mail Group in the summer. During this period I will continue as interim CEO of Royal Mail Group.
Emma is currently Chief Operating Officer at Heathrow Airport where she is responsible for the running of one of the world’s busiest airports.
Emma is a seasoned executive and brings extensive experience of working in large, complex and high profile regulated infrastructure businesses. She has an impressive track record of delivering major strategic change programmes whilst driving up performance, so she will be perfectly positioned to deliver our transformation whilst continuing to drive up quality of service.
I know she will bring a customer and employee-centric approach to delivering Royal Mail’s transformation, and I look forward to working closely with her to ensure Royal Mail reaches its true potential.
When she begins Emma will be spending a lot of time visiting sites across Royal Mail, Parcelforce and GLS, so that she can see all aspects of our operation and get to know the business. I know Emma can’t wait to get started and meet many of you over the coming months.
Please do join me in welcoming her when she joins on 1 May.
