Ramadan Mubarak

Ramadan has begun today, Monday 11 March – this is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and one of the five pillars of Islam.
From the early hours of this morning, the practice of fasting from both food and water during daylight hours will continue until Eid on Wednesday 10 April.
There is relevant information in our religious prayer and observance guide which can be found by clicking here. You can also print out this poster with instructions, to show where the Qibla is in a designated multi-faith or quiet space.
As the holy month of Ramadan begin, we’re acknowledging and recognising the significance of this observance for our Muslim colleagues. Ramadan is a time of reflection, fasting, prayer, and community for Muslims around the world.
We want to wish all our Muslim colleagues a blessed Ramadan. Ramadan Mubarak! May this month be filled with peace, reflection, and spiritual growth for you and your families.
During this time, we understand that our employees observing Ramadan may have different needs. We want to remind everyone of our company's policies and accommodations in place to support our colleagues during this month. This includes flexible working hours, understanding for adjusted break times for prayers, and any other accommodations needed. Please reach out to your manager if you require any specific support or have questions.
Whether you are practicing Ramadan yourself or have colleagues who are, please acknowledge and support them during this spiritual time. Let's also take this opportunity to foster a culture of respect and support for one another. We encourage all team members to show understanding and empathy towards those observing Ramadan.
HR Apprentice, Umara Ramzan, who is currently fasting said: ‘be accommodating - a fasting persons’ energy levels may be tad bit lower than others the closer it gets to Iftaar (sunset, when we break our fast) or even throughout the whole day.’
‘Provide support when it comes to managing calendar times and meetings - give adequate time to rest and recharge and balance workloads. Last but not least be curious. Asking questions is better than ignorance, and we are always more than happy to answer to the best of our ability! Personally, I also don’t want you to not eat and drink just because I am not eating and drinking- just be respectful.’
Once again, Ramadan Mubarak to all our Muslim colleagues. Your contributions to our team are valued and acknowledged.
