Marathon runners for in-house charity

PLEDGE WHAT YOU CAN TO SUPPORT OUR RUNNING TRIO

Three colleagues are gearing up for the race of their life to raise vital funds for in-house charity, Rowland Hill Fund (RHF).

Matt Wheeler, Gemma Cooper and Jake Parker will run Brighton Marathon on Sunday 7 April.

The Fund, established in 1882, is dedicated to improving the lives of postal people. It offers financial grants to those facing homelessness, life-changing health challenges and unexpected financial difficulties. You can read more here and join the Workplace group here.

Our trio of runners would welcome donations for RHF, which will in turn directly help postal people. Click here to pledge your support.

The runners are all customer operations managers in the south east of England and, John Doyle – Regional Operations Director, South East – is urging our support.

He said: ‘We are thrilled that we have three of our brilliant colleagues, Gemma, Jake and Matt, running in this marathon for such a great cause, it is a very selfless thing to do. We must all get behind them and support them in whatever way we can in raising money for this brilliant cause. We thank them, wish them well and will be supporting them on the day. It will make a genuine difference to peoples’ lives.’

Brighton is the UK’s third largest marathon and the 26.2-mile course takes in the city’s coastal landmarks.

Matt, of Ramsgate, Gemma, of Gillingham and Brighton’s Jake are now in the final stage of their training.

And the Fund are forever grateful for their commitment – and the generosity of colleagues pledging support.

Shan Lawrence, RHF Fundraising and Relationship Manager, said: ‘We’re excited to wish our three wonderful runners all the best with their training for the Brighton Marathon and a fabulous event.

‘They look like fine specimens of human fitness and the Fund are confident they’ll all make it across the finishing line. Please help them along by donating to their Enthuse page – every penny will go towards supporting postal people in financial need.’
