Fourth time’s a charm

After submitting his red-themed photo for British Heart Foundation #HeartMonth, Leeds Mail Centre postie, Mark Johnson, has taken home the winning #PicturePerfect title for a record fourth time!
‘I am shocked and over the moon to have won again,’ said Mark.
This popular photo was inspired by the #HeartMonth theme of Go Redder, capturing the Royal Mail brand and our charity partnership perfectly with his crimson postbox capture.
When asked about the inspiration behind the shot, Mark said: ‘with the theme being Go Redder, what is famously red at Royal Mail is our iconic postboxes.’
Mark was on a lunch break during his night shift when he captured the shot outside Leeds Mail Centre reception.
He said: ‘I just love being outside in the fresh air and snapping away with my phone. There’s always an opportunity for a photo somewhere – I just try to capture it with my phone as it’s always to hand.’
With Mark’s photos being a fan favourite amongst colleagues, given he’s a multi-time winner, his advice to others was: ‘Just take some photos with whatever you have. Some forward planning can help if you’re on a trip or just out with friends.’
This winning shot has not only bagged Mark £150 worth of shopping vouchers but also delivered a good deed with £200 being donated straight to our charity partner, British Heart Foundation.
Mark is doubling the deed as he will be donating his winnings to another heart charity close to his heart, Children's Heart Surgery Fund.
'A family member, little Arthur had to have open heart surgery at 8 days old and the charity Children’s Heart Surgery Fund were there to help' said Mark.
