Postal apprenticeships

With an industry-leading 98% completion rate, we’re proud that our postal apprenticeship scheme is the best of its kind in the sector, providing those taking their first steps in work, or who are new to the industry, with the tools and knowledge they need to kickstart their career. 

Erin Saul, one of our current postal apprentices in Hatfield DO, talks us through what a day in the life of a Postal Apprentice looks like.

When we asked Erin about what advice would she give prospective postal apprentices she said “This programme is a great way to learn and immerse yourself in an ever-changing industry. From personal experience, I would advise apprentices to make use of the resources/knowledge around them by communicating with colleagues or utilising the tools available from the Royal Mail Mainframe. I have learnt a lot from my colleagues, and continue to do so as their experience is greater than my own and something I benefit from every day. This has allowed me to apply solutions and enhance my problem solving capabilities. Also, remember to never feel discouraged, as learning is a part of every day to make you better at the job.”
