A fundraising superstar

Melanie Jamieson, postie based at Chester Mail Centre has hugely supported our partnership with British Heart Foundation in its first year.
During the Great Big Fundraising challenge last summer, Melanie organised some amazing events - everything from a cake sale, to bingo, and a charity football match. Throughout the challenge Melanie and her team raised over £4,600! Melanie didn’t stop there; she continued her efforts over Christmas by creating a memory tree and asking colleagues to donate and write a message.
‘Fundraising can be challenging at times but knowing that you’re supporting a good cause makes all the effort completely worth it’ said Melanie.
Since our partnership launched, Melanie said she has become much more aware of how many colleagues are impacted by heart and circulatory diseases and wanted to show her support in any way possible.
With only one week left of Heart Month, she has challenged the early shift colleagues at Chester Mail centre to raise £5 per person! Melanie is also encouraging all Royal Mail colleagues to get involved, no matter how small, to help raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation.
