To celebrate British Heart Foundation's Heart Month we’re sharing Renata Ponde's experience of supporting the charity. Renata works as a night shift manager at Heathrow International Distribution Centre and has been key in raising vital funds throughout the first year of our partnership with BHF.

Renata was part of Team International during the Great Big Fundraising Challenge, and helped arrange amazing fundraising events across the summer, from food sales and an incredible cycle challenge that got the whole DC involved.

However, she didn’t stop there! During the festive period Renata helped raise almost £1,000 for our partnership, £400 of which was through selling mince pies to the night shift staff. When speaking to Renata she said despite the busyness of Royal Mail, “fundraising for British Heart Foundation has massively helped workforce engagement and boosted morale across the whole DC.”

BHF is very close to Renata’s heart as the international DC has a lot of colleagues with a connection to the cause.

This Heart Month, Renata will be supporting fundraising activity and getting staff involved by selling roses throughout the DC on Valentine’s Day and encouraging her colleagues to have “fun with a purpose”. Find out more about getting involved with Heart Month here.

We know there are lots of amazing stories out there. Please share on Workplace or email your news to rmcommunications@royalmail.com
