Engage and act

First People Panel event of the year

Colleagues from across the country - and throughout our functions - joined together for a day of thought leadership, engagement and action at the first People Panel event of 2024.

Held in person at our Midlands Super Hub’s flagship Royal Mail Academy, the event also had three locations participating virtually with colleagues in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Hosted by Employee Voice Manager, Sarah Dyer, and Head of Engagement & Wellbeing, Rachel Blackett, colleagues were given the chance to air their views across several important topics.

Big Trust Survey action planning, recognition and long-service were among them, while Head of Health & Wellbeing, Fiona McAslan, introduced a new mental health programme, which is being launched later this year.

New Chief Operating Officer, Alistair Cochrane, was the event’s keynote speaker as he introduced himself and his priorities, before taking part in a question-and-answer session with attendees.

Sarah said: ‘Our People Panel brings together colleagues from all over the country, and from different parts of the business, providing them with an opportunity to express their views and ideas on various important topics.

‘This session provided us with hugely insightful feedback. This will really help to shape some of our key initiatives, so a massive thank you to all our brilliant attendees and hosts who got stuck into the discussions and shared their views!’

Our in-house charity Rowland Hill Fund were in attendance to share more about the important work it does for our people, while community champion Tim Hyde was on hand to give details of the charitable causes he regularly supports, including for our charity partner British Heart Foundation.
