All roads lead to roses

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we’ve researched into addresses in the UK to reveal the romantic connections in the names of the streets and homes we live in around the UK.
There are over 1,600 streets and 14,600 houses up and down the country that have been struck by Cupid’s arrow. You will find the most romantically-inspired street names in London (45), with Bristol (26), Liverpool (25) and Nottingham (18) the next three on the list. However, when it comes to house names, March in Cambridgeshire (251) is the most affectionate in the UK.
By name and by nature, Royal Mail colleague, Clifford Valentine is pictured on Valentine Place in London ahead of Valentine’s Day sending First Class supersized mail.
‘From looking at our database of the 32 million addresses across the UK, it is heart-warming to see the romantic influence on many street and house names.
‘Ahead of Valentine's Day, remember to send your messages and tokens of love in good time to ensure your cards and gifts reach your loved ones by Wednesday 14 February." Steve Rooney, Head of Address Management Unit.
We’re also applying a special postmark to stamped mail to mark Valentine’s Day. It will read:
‘Send a little love this Valentine’s Day – February 14’
This postmark will run from 10 - 13 February.
