The importance of a chat

Coming up this week on Thursday 1 February is Time to Talk Day, a national campaign which spotlights the importance of having open mental health conversation.
With one in two people experiencing a mental health issue, or supporting someone who is, we’re encouraging everyone to take some time out, come together, talk and listen. Talking is so important and the more conversations we have, the more we can support each other.
To help get you started, this resource pack has everything you and your team need to start a conversation about mental health and will encourage everyone on talk openly about their mental health not just today but every day.
You can show your support by printing and displaying the Time To Talk Day posters in your local offices, hold a session that focusses on open wellbeing conversations and get involved in the Time To Talk Day photo campaign on Workplace using #TimeToTalkDay.
‘Talking about your mental health helps to remove the stigmas and barriers around the topic of Mental Health and allows for everyone to feel more comfortable, it allows people to communicate more openly and encourages people to seek help when they need it’ said Stevie Gilroy, Work Area Manager.
