Going green

We’re excited to unveil our new woodland project in conjunction with the Queen’s Green Canopy and the Mersey Forest team.
The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) was a unique nationwide tree planting initiative created to mark Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Royal Mail has acquired 21 acres of land that links two existing woods, Griffin Wood and Clockface Woodland, together.
We have already started to fill this woodland with native species of trees and shrubs.
Situated close to our North West Super Hub in Warrington, the site will become an integral part of a much larger recreational and biodiversity resource for people and wildlife.
In this film, shot at an earlier date as the first trees were planted, hear from colleagues who were part of the first spades entering the ground, Chief Commercial Officer, Nick Landon, and our partners at Queen’s Green Canopy and Mersey Forest.
We know there are lots of amazing stories out there. Please share on Workplace or email your news to rmcommunications@royalmail.com.
