Peak support

Director of Transformation, Gyorgyi Szantner, has been hearing from frontline colleagues, while collecting mail to support the operation during our busiest time of year.
Since Gyorgyi joined Royal Mail in September, she has visited sites across the nation from Midlands Super Hub, Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre and Jubilee Mail Centre to Plymouth Call Centre and Uxbridge Delivery Office. Last week called for a visit closer to home.
The team at Home Counties North Mail Centre gave a warm welcome and were eager to show Gyorgyi the frontline ropes and the best bits of being in the operation. The letter sorting machine is a proud system in the unit with that station being the first port of call.
‘I was able to get feedback on what concerns our people the most regarding the current processes and see where there is room for improvements,’ said Gyorgyi.
‘Our people shared some great ideas and were passionate about improving the processes we have in place.’
Gyorgyi will be on the move again to complete another night shift in a different mail centre before returning to her local delivery office to process some more post before Christmas.
Our non-operational colleagues will continue to support on the frontline during our busiest time of the year as we get closer to Christmas.
