Creating magic for others

‘We can make this a special time for them too’

You may have seen the valuable work Tim Hyde does in the community by regularly volunteering and supporting good causes.

Tim recognises the importance of continuing to offer support to those around us at this time of year.

‘Many people in our communities get left behind and forgotten at this time of year and we are trying to do as much as we can make this a special time for them too’ said Tim.

‘Royal Mail holds so many communities together, it’s important to recognise that and step up for the festive period.’

Tim and his trusty team of volunteers have been helping out across a variety of locations such as a local family soup kitchen where they lend a hand every week. They’ve also organised a collection for the local homeless in a spread the warmth campaign which involved supplying hats, coats, duvets and sleeping bags plus a large amount of brand-new underwear to adults and children.

Local schools have also been paid a visit by the team to bring the festive fun and also educate them about Royal Mail by encouraging them to post their Santa Mail early and a reminder to ensure that any pet dogs are kept away from the front door when the postie arrives.

The team also held their annual visit to Great Ormond Street hospital, with a choir who sang carols at the entrance, Penny the parcel and Lenny the letter Rudolph and other characters too!

‘If you’re considering volunteering- don’t hesitate- just do it! Not only do you get to see the happy faces of those you help but the endorphins you get will give you the most festive feel-good feeling you can imagine!’
