Stress Awareness Day

Today, Thursday 2 November is National Stress Awareness Day so we’re taking the opportunity to highlight the support and resources available for you and your family, to help with us all manage those stressors in our life.
Understanding stress
Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure. A small amount of stress in our daily lives can be useful. It can motivate us to act and get tasks completed. It can also make us feel alive and excited. But too much stress can cause negative effects such as a change in our mood, our body and relationship issues. And that’s why it’s important we shine a spotlight on the support and resources available.
Support to keep us all well
Our Wellbeing Hub is your one stop shop through to our confidential, independent, and free wellbeing support. It’s easy to access – it’s on the People App as well as the intranet. Everyone has access to Help@hand where you’ll find online GP 24/7, physiotherapy, unlimited mental health consultations and a personalised 360 Wellbeing score which unlocks 1:1 lifestyle coaching, nutrition, and personal training support. There’s support for your family as well.
New: join our wellbeing workshops
Register today to join one of new workplace wellbeing workshops so you can confidently address and improve your own wellbeing as well as supporting others. We’re adding new topics each month so do keep checking in through the wellbeing hub. This month we’re looking at supporting neurodiversity, looking after your money and suicide awareness.
Talk to those around you
Take time out to talk to those around you about how you’re feeling. If you’re worried about someone but unsure where to start, our Moments that matter – supporting a colleague when you’re worried about them offers you tips, guidance and signposting support to help. And remember we have an incredible Wellbeing Ambassador network – over 1100 colleagues who are there to help you no matter what you’re facing. It’s important we have at least one Ambassador in every site so let’s make that happen. You can find out more in the Ambassador Zone including how to register in one easy click.
For more support and guidance head over to the Wellbeing Hub – also available through the People App, and this Stress Awareness Day share your thoughts on Workplace #YourWellbeing.
