Community Hearts update

BHF open Community Defibrillator applications

Thanks to your incredible fundraising, British Heart Foundation (BHF) have opened applications for UK-based community groups to apply for a free public access defibrillator.

BHF are aiming to address health inequalities by placing defibrillators in communities with greatest need. Having a defibrillator and knowing how to do CPR gives people a better chance at surviving a cardiac arrest.

All eligible UK-based community groups can apply. Each organisation can only apply for one and applications are open now until 31 March 2024. For more information visit the BHF website.

We’ve reached some incredible first milestones in delivering the Community Hearts programme. Thanks to your fundraising we have:

  • In August – announced that, BHF’s vital Heart Helpline is now free to call.
  • In September – launched Classroom RevivR, a new digital CPR training tool for the UK’s secondary school pupils.
  • In November – opened applications for the Community Defibrillator programme.

BHF are only able to do this because of your fundraising – thank you!
