The importance of clean and tidy sites

At Christmas, there’s an increase in footfall from new starters and agency colleagues, as well as an increase in equipment and the volume of mail and parcels.

It can be tough to keep things tidy, but as part of ‘Preparing for Peak’, all colleagues should now be getting their unit ready for the increased volume of traffic.

With some good planning and regular housekeeping over the coming months, we can all maintain a safe and pleasant working environment that minimises the risk of slips and trips enables colleagues to do their best work – safely and productively. Here’s how:

Keeping your unit clean and tidy during for Peak

  • Everyone has a responsibility for keeping the workplace clean and tidy at all times
  • Workstations and offices etc should be kept tidy and free of clutter
  • It’s more important than ever to dispose of rubbish and recycling as soon as you can using the designated equipment, ensuring that items for storage / recycling are put into the designated containers / equipment
  • Keep walkways, aisles and fire escape routes clear of obstructions at all times
  • Ensuring that fire wardens are appointed to clear your unit in the event of a fire alarm
  • Talking to your manager if you can think of ways to keep everything clear, clean and tidy.
