Keeping well this winter

How you can maintain your wellbeing this winter

As we approach the winter months, it’s important we each take time to look after our wellbeing.  Whether you’re looking for advice on how to stay well, need access to a GP, physio, or mental health support, or would like to speak to someone - there’s confidential support here for you and your family.

Understanding more about your wellbeing

To help you understand more about wellbeing and steps you can take to keep well,  join our new wellbeing workshops where you can learn more about lifestyle management, stress management and mental health, financial wellbeing, managing menopause, suicide awareness, cancer support and more.  You can register here.  These are updated regularly so bookmark the page for future reference.

Accessing GP, physio and mental health support

Supporting you and those around you is so important, particularly during the winter months. Through <Help@hand> you can easily access confidential and independent wellbeing support for you and your family including online GP 24/7, unlimited mental health consultations, physiotherapy, lifestyle coaching, nutrition support and personal training. Register for help@hand today so you’re all set up and ready for when you might just need it.

Speak to someone in confidence

If you need to speak to someone, you can call the wellbeing Employee Assistance Programme 24/7 on 0345 266 5060 or access support through Help@hand.  Whether it’s in the moment support or for someone more complex, EAP is there for you – and it’s completely confidential and independent.

If you notice that someone seems to have low mood, ask them how they are and give them an opportunity to talk if they want to. Our Moments that matter - supporting a colleague when you're worried about them guide is there to help you support someone you’re concerned about.

Respiratory illness during the winter months

Remember to take the necessary steps to limit infection of all respiratory illness like colds, flu and COVID – and protect yourself and others.  We encourage anyone most at risk from flu and COVID and if eligible,  to take up the offer of a free NHS vaccination. You can also choose to pay for a flu vaccination through your local pharmacy.

For all other wellbeing support, go to the Wellbeing Hub where you’ll find immediate guidance and support.
