In conversation with BITC

The Business in the Community Cross Organisational Mentoring Programme is a unique scheme aimed exclusively at ethnically diverse junior managers who aspire to leadership roles.
Royal Mail, by virtue of being a BITC partner organisation, nominates around 10 colleagues to join the programme each year.
They form part of a mentoring circle of eight or so peers from other businesses and organisations, who work with a Lead Mentor on topics such as personal brand, public speaking, effective networking.
Mentees can build self-confidence and self-esteem and grow their networks. Mentoring circles provide structured support, and with a Black, Asian and ethnically diverse focus, any anxiety around difference and disadvantage is reduced – the focus is firmly on opportunity and career development to enhance career prospects.
Watch this short video of our mentees conversation about their experience on the programme and what they've been able to gain.
Remember to visit the Black History Month site to find out more about activities and events taking place throughout October, including the Workplace Live for Wellbeing for ethnic minority women.
