The UK’s oldest delivery

Celebrating by being there for the oldest man and woman in the UK

FEEL-GOOD FRIDAY

‘We bring happiness’ – the words of Southport postie Keith Harrison, part of one of two teams to deliver significant cards in the last week.

Keith was on hand to give a birthday card to 111-year-old John Tinniswood – the oldest man in the UK. Earlier, in Aldershot, posties Janet Hanna and Anthony Masterson did the same for 114-year-old Ethel Caterham, the oldest woman in the UK.

You can see the ceremony that took place to mark John’s birthday in this film.

To ensure the special deliveries of both cards from His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla were successful, our teams at Southport Delivery Office – led by Richard Greer – and Aldershot Delivery Office – led by Gaurav Dewan – worked with their respective pipelines, alongside the CEO’s office and Buckingham Palace’s Court Post Office.

‘It’s days like today that shows how Royal Mail brings happiness into people’s communities and people’s lives,’ said Keith.

In Aldershot, Guarav added: ‘It was a great opportunity for us. It’s a nice honour and shows what Royal Mail does.’

We know there are lots of amazing stories out there. Please share on Workplace or email your news to rmcommunications@royalmail.com.
