Five posties join the Courier reporting team

Five posties have joined the Courier reporting team to give the content a more authentic peer-to-peer voice.

In the first issue of Courier as a brand-new, features-led, quarterly magazine in December, an appeal was made to ask colleagues to join its editorial board to shape the content and add their own voice.

A panel of five were selected to start work on the spring issue, which is on its way to homes from Thursday 1 April.

Courier editor, Paul Smith, said: ‘It’s vital that our people are represented in Courier and what better way than to have them discuss feature ideas, give opinions on what to include and, moreover, write some of the issue themselves?

‘That’s why the editorial panel really works and makes the spring issue even better than the widely-acclaimed winter Courier.

‘I’m really pleased with how it turned out and can’t wait to see what the team come up with next for our summer issue.’

The posties making up the panel are Bootle’s Paul Simons, Hampshire’s Paul Stewart, Mossley Hill’s Laura Cornish, Bradford’s Chris Robbins and Stafford’s Kamil Sterniczuk.

Paul Simons is planning to bring ‘energy’ to the role and ‘say it like it is’, while Laura hopes to represent the part-time demographic and those balancing work with being a parent.

Paul Stewart, a former guest editor, wants to ‘be in the middle of everything going on’, while Chris ‘loves to write’ and Kamil is keen to bring ‘new and interesting topics’ to his colleagues.
