The best of Workplace

It’s almost time for all colleagues to log in to Workplace from Facebook for the first time and there are countless reasons why you should, writes Paul Smith.
The conversation is hotting up among the managers using the online tool already.
From tomorrow, everyone who works for Royal Mail Group will be able to access the collaborative site using the login details in your most recent payslip. When logging on for the first time, here are some of the posts already active that new users will see.
This gives a flavour of the type of conversations already happening, the sort of images and videos being shared and where you can start making your own impact. Over to you!
Once you are online, you’ll be able to click on the links on the names below and go straight through to the post to see the pictures and videos associated and start posting your comments.
‘Team - this is how our contract colleagues will “scan in / scan out” - Royal Mail colleagues would simply use their pass to enter / exit through the gates. Well done team technology and everyone else who is supporting this initiative.’
Simon Thompson, CEO
‘WHO ARE WE IN TWO WORDS?
I’m sitting here with a piece of paper trying to get down how we would describe ourselves in two words. But why do it myself when I can tap into all your brains and years of experience??
So if Honda think of themselves as “spirited visioneers” and lastminute.com think of themselves as “fun-mongers” - who are we?
I’m going to kick off with “HUMBLE HEROES”
Any other ideas?’
Jenny Hall, director of corporate affairs

Brian started on Monday 23rd July 1990. That year, Nelson Mandela was freed, Maggie Thatcher resigned, The Simpsons first aired and Stamp prices were 22p for 1st class and 17p for 2nd Class.
The number one chart song, in the week Brian started, was Turtle Power from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.’
Adam Sutcliffe, operations manager, central Yorkshire
