Time to transform

The New Year will bring new focus for Royal Mail following our agreement with the CWU, as we’ll be pushing on with plans to transform our business.
We will restart some of our trials and commence new ways of working to help us remain the number one delivery company in our industry.
We have agreed to move forward with revisions in all operation areas:
- Scanning in and out technology will replace handwritten sheets
- We will resume the trial of Resource Scheduler
- We will drive operational change in Parcelforce.
A pay rise for this and next year has also been agreed, and we will implement the second hour of the Shorter Working Week, along with the 2021 revision activity. You can read the full details of the agreement here.
Chief operating officer Achim Dünnwald said: ‘This is a framework agreement, which means we have agreed the principles of all of the change topics. There will be more work to do in the New Year.
‘I am genuinely excited that we can look ahead now and build the Royal Mail of the future.’
