Moustache gracias

The team at Macclesfield Delivery Office has been found guilty of some fantachetic fundraising as part of last month’s Movember campaign, writes Peter Kirby.
In total, 18 colleagues took part, growing their facial fuzz throughout November to raise money and awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide.
The event was organised by delivery office manager Jake Nurse, who said he was amazed by the effort the team had put in towards fundraising during such a challenging time.
‘I’ve been raising money for Movember for several years now because it’s a cause very close to my heart,’ he said. ‘But I have never had a more successful year than this year, and I think that says a lot about how important the cause is and how well the team at Macclesfield has done in raising awareness.
‘So far, we have raised £2,207 and are still going. I told the team that if we raised £500, I would keep my moustache until Christmas Eve. They hit the target in three days!’
Earlier this year, the team raised more than £2,500 for East Cheshire Hospice by doing their rounds in fancy dress. Outfits that put a smile on customers' faces included Where's Wally, superheroes, knights and a punk rocker.
Among those who took part in the Movember campaign was postie of 36 years, Tim Hartley, (pictured). He said: ‘We thought with everything going on it would be more poignant. It has been a struggle this year, I've never seen anything like it. But we have a good team here and things like this are a welcome distraction that bring everyone together.
‘After the success of our fancy dress fundraising for East Cheshire Hospice, we embraced Movember. The only downside was that wearing masks meant we couldn’t see each other’s progress, but it made it much better for the big reveal at the end with some colleagues being almost unrecognisable!’
