Changing lives

For most of us, the festive season is a happy time. But there are children all over the UK who face a Christmas without food, warmth or love.
Our friends at Action for Children are working hard to change this – but they need our help. You don’t need a team of reindeer, or a magic sleigh. You can do something very special by raising money that could give children and young people food, warm clothes or a safe place to sleep.
Despite such a busy Christmas this year, colleagues across the UK have continued to show their generosity and festive cheer by raising funds for our charity partner.
Stamp auction
The annual Royal Mail stamp enlargement auction smashed all expectations for 2020 and has raised over £6,300 with matched giving – a phenomenal achievement! We’re still counting donations, so if you want to donate to Action for Children, with your money automatically matched by Royal Mail – why not make a donation here?
Terry’s calendar
Since the first lockdown in March, postie Terry Barnes – who you’ll be seeing shortly in our Who We Are campaign – has been brightening up his round in Clevedon, Somerset by wearing fancy dress! Customers in his area loved his outfits so much, that they have compiled them into a calendar in aid of Action for Children. From Peter Pan, Mario and a squirrel, Terry’s outfits could also brighten up your 2021! If you would like to buy a calendar for £5 (plus postage), please email RoyalMail@actionforchildren.org.uk.
Secret Santa
Thank you to everyone who has organised a Christmas jumper day already! Still want to get involved with Christmas fundraising? There’s still time! Check out these ideas in Action for Children’s Secret Santa fundraising toolkit.
If you need any support with your fundraising, please email Vicky at RoyalMail@actionforchildren.org.uk. Thank you for all your support and helping Action for Children deliver better youth mental health across the UK.
